Dr. Fizza Zahid Rafiq MBBS, Fatima Jinnah Medical University, Lahore, Pakistan
She moved to South Africa in 2000 and completed her residency for MRCOG at Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital.
She got a Diploma in Obstetrics from South Africa in 2002. She moved to Canada CA in 2002 and then worked as a GP obstetrician for a few years in Ponoka, Alberta
Currently, she is working in Calgary as Family Physician at TransCanada Medical Centre NE since 2007 and has a special interest in women and child health. She is CCFP and is also a Fellow of the College of Family Physicians. She is a clinical lecturer at the University of Calgary and is involved in teaching medical students.
Dr. Fizza Rafiq is the President of a Doctor organization in Alberta named MD – International. This organization is helping International Medical graduates who move to Canada and are struggling to enter the medical system. Dr. Fizza has also traveled to Bangladesh with her colleagues in MDI on humanitarian grounds to provide medical relief to Rohingya Refugees in 2017.
